The holidays always get me thinking about how I can better myself in the next year. I’ve decided I want to share some mom goals this year in hopes of being the best mom I can be! Who’s with me?
If you are rolling your eyes at me thinking I’m about to tell you that you need to run a marathon or cut back on the ice cream, you don’t know me so well. While I think those things are amazingly awesome I will not (ever) be putting them on a goal list.
My mom goals are those everyday things that seem easy but really take some effort like box brownies (seriously how do you get them to bake just right?) For real though, make being a happy healthy mama a priority this year.
MOM GOALS FOR THE NEW YEAR
Give more hugs.
According to mindbodygreen.com hugging lowers your stress! Need I say more?
Say I love you more.
Tell your child, tell your husband and even your grandma, I love you! Spreading happiness with every word.
No negative self-talk, children are always watching.
Sometimes I look in the mirror and think, ugh. Then I turn around and see my daughter looking in her mirror just like I was. Monkey see monkey do. Monkey be positive.
Set a bedtime and stick with it.
No more “5 more minutes of Facebook” or Netflix or whatever. Just go to sleep.
Watch and learn from my child, let her lead.
Following my child’s lead is something we learned from practicing Montessori and it’s always at the top of my to-do list!
Show my appreciation for my husband more.
I know my husband knows I appreciate him but treat others how you want to be treated, right? I am so thankful for him and he deserves to know that every single day.
Take more time for me time, guiltlessly.
Do yoga, meditation, find your passion. Whatever it is, do it for YOU! You deserve to be happy too! 🙂
