4 USEFUL REASONS THE INTERNET IS A MOM’S BEST FRIEND

After I became a mother, or maybe it was while I was pregnant, I was constantly on my phone checking my social media and searching the internet for entertainment. I’m not afraid to admit it, I was addicted to my phone, and I probably still am but I don’t care. I love the connections I make all through the screen of my phone. I think this is what really saved me from becoming a total recluse after my daughter was born.

This list of websites made my life so much easier when Aneira was a baby and still today in her toddler years. By now you know, take all the help you can get. Each of these websites has a different use and you may not need them all but I guarantee you will fall in love with a few of them!

WONDER WEEKS-

This app is hands down the most helpful one out there! I don’t know what I would have done without it. I installed this app when my daughter was one month old and I still use it now that she is a toddler. It alerts you to let you know when your child is going through a mental growth spurt which are usually accompanied by fussiness. They call it the 3 C’s, crying, cranky and clingy. Whenever I noticed these signs I look on my Wonder Weeks app and she would be about to start a mental leap. They also explain in detail exactly what your little one is learning in that specific leap so it really helps you connect with your child. It also helps you identify what is going on with your child at that particular age. I recommend this app to everyone I know with a young child.

AMAZON-

I did almost all of my shopping on amazon.com when I was huge and pregnant. The same goes for when I had my baby. I didn’t leave my house much back then so online shopping was the perfect way for me to spend my time. While my baby refused to go back to sleep at 2 AM I could be buying new nursing bras, diapers or anything else that tickled my fancy. I also loved getting packages in the mail all the time. Sometimes, because mommy brain, I got stuff I didn’t even know I ordered. Back then I hadn’t quite come around to the whole minimalist  thing yet. My husband is much happier now that I keep my spending to a minimum.

ONLINE GROCERY SHOPPING-

Grocery shopping is a pain in the butt. Grocery shopping with kids when it’s -32 degrees out is even a bigger pain in the butt! That is why I love online grocery shopping. It does take some getting use to and time to figure out where things are located but once you order a few times you catch on quickly. You often spend less money as well. Not so many tempting cookies at the end of each aisle to just randomly appear in my cart.  I mostly use this when I have a sick kid or it’s super cold out or you know, when you can’t be bothered to get out of your pajamas.

FACEBOOK-

When I was prego I was introduced to an awesome mom group. It totally changed my life. I would add all my first time mom friends explaining to them how helpful it had been to me. This group answered any questions I had, provided jokes to get me through the loneliest of days and always encouraged me to do my best as a mother.

Unfortunately, this group has come and gone and I was left feeling bored and lonely once again. I tried a few different mom groups but they just weren’t for me. I was looking for an uplifting, supportive, encouraging group that would help each other get through this thing they call motherhood.

After a while I decided if what I was looking for wasn’t out there maybe I should just create it. That is just what I’ve done. This Mom Life is for any mom to come for a chat, a laugh or even a cry.
